Health Equity Quality and Innovation Collective (QuIC)
AMGA’s Health Equity Quality and Innovation Collective (QuIC) is a three-phased initiative, combining a virtual discussion forum, a two-day virtual meeting, and a two-day in-person meeting. Health Equity QuIC utilizes interactive workshops with quality improvement tools and qualitative methodology to engage AMGA member organizations in thoughtful discussions to collect insights and share best practices to create successful and impactful health equity initiatives at their organizations.
AMGA is addressing health equity as one of its strategic priorities, in part by identifying health disparities and the social drivers to improve the overall health and health outcomes for their patients and the communities they serve. It is not only the right thing to do but it is good for business.

Health inequities account for approximately $320 billion in annual health care spending signaling an unsustainable crisis for the industry. If unaddressed, this figure could grow to US $1 trillion or more by 2040*

Additionally, addressing health inequities aids in your organizations efforts towards value by improving overall quality outcomes and patient experience for your population and reduces the cost of care.
Opportunity
Medical groups and health systems with an existing health equity infrastructure are eligible to participate. Additional requirements include:

Have identified health disparities as a strategic priority with active work in their organizations.

Currently using their electronic health record (EHR) to collect data on how medical and/or procedural treatments vary depending on race or ethnicity, ZIP codes, and insurance data to support the advancement of health equity.

Consider the role of implicit bias with an identified disparity and explore the impact of interventions to address.
- Organizations can choose to implement across their entire patient population or begin with a targeted group of the population and spread during the QuIC.

Listen and engage in a moderated, high-level discussion on developing health equity programs within your organizations.

December 2023
Share in this two-day virtual meeting:

Educational sessions and interactive activities to discuss current practices and explore plans for implementation of tailored interventions.

Attendees will be asked to select an intervention to focus on in between phase 2 and 3 meetings.

Attendees will submit minimal quality improvement documentation on their actions and progress to AMGA, February through June 2024.

August 2024
Create in this two-day in-person:

Engage AMGA members in hands-on and interactive learning to share successes and challenges with their tailored intervention implementation and investigate next steps with sustainability and scalability.

With a robust qualitative focus, the intensive meeting will incorporate group work, roundtables, panels, and lecture presentations, and offers participants opportunities to collaborate with one another in a structured learning environment.
