Obesity Management Quality Improvement Collaborative
AMGA Foundation, supported by an independent grant from Lilly, is leading a 19-month initiative focused on helping medical groups develop and implement strategies to increase the number of people with obesity who receive a formal diagnosis, evidence-based comprehensive care, and education on the importance of long-term sustainable outcomes and closing care gaps on routine preventative care. Read more about the initiative here.
AMGA’s Obesity Management Quality Improvement Collaborative provides a platform for participating organizations to improve both clinical and economic outcomes for patients who have been diagnosed with obesity. This Collaborative is designed for organizations interested in teaming with other high-performing medical groups and health systems to develop and implement strategies to increase the number of people with obesity who receive:
-
A formal diagnosis
-
Evidence-based comprehensive care, including counseling, nutrition, medical and surgical therapeutic interventions
-
Education on the importance of long-term sustainable outcomes.
Through the development and implementation of quality improvement projects, best practice sharing, and peer learning, organizations will learn ways to improve diagnosis, integrate evidence-based treatments, and implement a tailored health equity intervention to address an identified gap in care.
