      This session will provide a comprehensive overview of the proposed updates to the Inpatient Prospective Payment Systems, including: 

      • Payment Rate Adjustments: An anticipated 2.4% increase in operating payment rates for general acute care hospitals, reflecting a projected hospital market basket increase of 3.2% offset by a 0.8 percentage point productivity adjustment. 
      • Quality Reporting and Value-Based Purchasing Programs: Proposed changes to the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting Program, Hospital Value-Based Purchasing Program, and Hospital-Acquired Condition Reduction Program, focusing on streamlining measures and emphasizing clinical outcomes. 
      • New Technology Add-On Payments (NTAPs): Updates on applications and thresholds for NTAPs, including a projected $234 million increase in payments for inpatient cases involving new medical technologies. 
      • Wage Index and Labor-Related Share Adjustments: Insights into proposed changes to the wage index, including the discontinuation of the low wage index hospital. 
      • Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) Payments: An estimated $1.5 billion increase in Medicare uncompensated care payments to DSHs, contributing to an overall projected $4 billion increase in hospital payments.
