Predictive Analytics

Ultimately, population health comes down to making the best decision for each person, accounting for their individual risk factors and providing the best and most appropriate care. Using longitudinal clinical patient data, AMGA and our partners are developing multivariable predictive models that are much better than any single clinical parameter at identifying high-risk patients and informing individualized treatment decisions. AMGA is also developing a new cloud-hosted SMART app using FHIR standards that will make it easier to embed these advanced predictive models into the clinical workflow of electronic health records, giving more AMGA members access to these advanced predictive models providing precision medicine without the genomics. Predictive models, however, necessitate the need for foundational change in care processes from one of reactive to proactive, with new roles, deeper protocols, and different relationships with our patients.
