Medical Groups and Health Systems Nationwide Document or Administer Nearly 35 Million Vaccines in the Four and a Half Years Since the Campaign’s Inception.

Alexandria, VA – AMGA Foundation’s Rise to Immunize® (RIZE) campaign surpassed its six-year goal 18 months ahead of schedule, with participating medical groups and health systems administering or documenting 34.9 million adult vaccines in the first four and a half years. Leaders from across the medical community gathered to mark the achievement at the AMGA 2026 Annual Conference this past weekend in Las Vegas.

The RIZE campaign focuses on seven routine adult vaccinations: influenza, pneumococcal, Td/Tdap, zoster, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), COVID-19, and hepatitis B. Since the campaign began in 2021, zoster vaccination rates have improved by 17.9%, and Td/Tdap rates have risen 4.5%. Since their addition to the campaign in 2024, hepatitis B and RSV vaccination rates have trended upward, with average hepatitis B vaccinations increasing by 3.2% and RSV vaccination rates increasing by 7.9%.

“Despite the headwinds they’ve faced, our members have not only met the goal of 30 million ahead of schedule—they’ve exceeded it,” said John Kennedy, MD, AMGA chief medical officer and AMGA Foundation president. “Behind every one of those 34.9 million vaccines is a healthcare professional, a care team, and a member organization committed to keeping adults healthy.”

Over the remainder of the campaign, RIZE will continue to track and report members’ progress, and the campaign focus will shift towards hardwiring, scaling, and sustaining adult vaccination efforts.

Addressing campaign members at the AMGA Annual Conference Foundation Celebration, Dr. Kennedy added: “On behalf of AMGA and the RIZE team, I would like to extend our sincerest thanks and congratulations to everyone here for their role in achieving this extraordinary milestone. Challenges will remain, but our AMGA members will continue to lead the way.”

To date, 86 AMGA member organizations have joined RIZE, representing more than 54,000 full-time equivalent (FTE) physicians across 30 states. To improve adult vaccination rates, participating AMGA members implement evidence-based care processes, or “campaign planks”; report quarterly immunization data; and use best-practice resources and tools identified and provided by the campaign.

RIZE is sponsored by Pfizer, Inc. (Founding Sponsor), Sanofi and GSK (Executive Sponsors), Merck and Johnson & Johnson (Principal Sponsors), Dynavax (Contributing Sponsor), and CSL Seqirus (Supporting Sponsor). Campaign partners include CMSS – Council of Medical Specialty Societies, Gerontological Society of America, Hepatitis B Foundation, Immunize.org, National Adult and Influenza Immunization Summit, National Foundation for Infectious Diseases, National Hispanic Medical Association, National Minority Quality Forum, PALTmed – Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association, the Trusted Messenger Program, Unity Consortium, and Vaccinate Your Family.
