Obesity Patient Journeys: Bridging Quantitative and Qualitative Data

      Tuesday, March 10, 2026, 12:00 pm ET
This webinar is being presented in partnership with Lilly USA, LLC.

Elizabeth Ruvalcaba, MSPH, Population Health Analyst, AMGA
Meghana Tallam, MPH, Population Health Analyst, AMGA

Obesity treatment is evolving rapidly, yet significant gaps remain in understanding how patients navigate care in real-world settings. This webinar presents findings from an AMGA-led mixed methods study examining the changing landscape of obesity management and the factors influencing patient outcomes. We will share results from a large-scale database analysis evaluating obesity treatment utilization patterns among patients receiving usual care.

Our database analysis reveals how patients move through multiple interventions, how treatment pathways have evolved, and how BMI changes over time in usual care settings to illuminate critical gaps. Complementing this data-driven perspective, we present preliminary findings from an ongoing qualitative study conducted in partnership with five AMGA members.

Attendees will gain actionable insights into where care gaps exist, what factors drive successful treatment engagement, and how the obesity management landscape is transforming. This evidence can inform clinical practice improvements, policy discussions, and patient support strategies.

      Key Takeaways:

      1. Discover treatment pattern insights and long-term trajectory data
      2. Gain clarity on patient, provider, and health system-level barriers to obesity care and management
      3. Learn proven factors that improve provider and health system engagement with patients on obesity care and management
