Atlantic City, NJ -- AMGA is proud to announce that AtlantiCare is the recipient of the 2025 AMGA Bridge Award. AtlantiCare was honored for its efforts to implement community-based, health system interventions to address disparities in COVID-19 management.

AtlantiCare, based in New Jersey, was selected for their exemplary work to advance health equity in COVID-19 mangement through multidisciplinary collaboration and community partnerships. Through partnerships with Stockton University Engelberg Leadership Scholarship Program, and other community partners, AtlantiCare conducted a multi-level needs assessment to gather feedback from clinicians and patients to assess opportunities for COVID-19 management equity. AtlantiCare then implemented community-based and health system interventions to address disparities in COVID-19 management.

AtlantiCare is the second recipient of the  AMGA Bridge Award. The award honors an AMGA member organization for “bridging the gap” between research and clinical practice. It recognizes an AMGA member that participates in an AMGA-led research study and demonstrates exceptional implementation of research-informed strategies to achieve sustainable improvements in care delivery. The AMGA Bridge Award is part of Accelerating System Progress with Implementation Research and Education (ASPIRE). The aim of the ASPIRE initative is to facilitate change, using methods grounded in implementation science that can increase widespread adoption of evidence-based practices.

Senior Vice President of Research and Analytics Elizabeth Ciemins, PhD, MPH, MA, commented, “We applaud the work of AtlantiCare in furthering the aims of implementation research. Through the research of organizations like AtlantiCare, we learn the effects of various interventions implemented in real-world settings by real-world clinicians. This research can help members discover what works best and for whom in a variety of settings and local contexts. Implementation research is a central component of the journey to high-value care.”

The 2025 award was announced at AMGA’s Annual Conference held in Grapevine, TX, and presented to the AtlantiCare team in Atlantic City, NJ. For more details of AtlantiCare’s initiative, visit amga.org.
