AMGA Supports Preserving Patient Access to Value-Based Care Act Introduced in Senate
AMGA today endorsed bipartisan legislation that supports Medicare’s continued transition to value-based payment by extending the Advanced Alternative Payment Models (APMs) program bonus payments.
Alexandria, VA – AMGA today endorsed bipartisan legislation that supports Medicare’s continued transition to value-based payment by extending the Advanced Alternative Payment Models (APMs) program bonus payments. The Preserving Patient Access to Value-Based Care Act was introduced by Senators John Barrasso (R-WY) and Shelden Whitehouse (D-RI). AMGA recommends the Congress enact this legislation by the end of the year.
The legislation would extend expiring 5% Advanced APM incentive payments for an additional two years. The legislation also maintains the current 50% Advanced APM revenue threshold to incentivize providers to make the move toward value-based care.
