Speakers will outline a unique, customized approach that they partnered on with AMGA Consulting for their orthopedic service line by applying market data to the current provider supply and productivity of their primary care providers to determine the number of providers needed in orthopedics.

This year’s survey results include a new comprehensive telehealth survey that was added to respond to the changing delivery models.

Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) Compensation Approaches

The discussion will include how citizenship, clinical quality, and productivity goals can be introduced over time to achieve better alignment between physician and APC pay models. Thoughts on developing compensation committees to include APC representation will also be shared.

If the right approaches, processes and recruitment criteria are not in place, the benefits of APCs may not materialize. CMS made numerous changes impacting outpatient E&M coding in 2021. Documentation requirements, RVU values, and payment per RVU all changed during an already unstable time. In this presentation, we examine the impact to production, provider compensation, and the distribution of codes billed, along with suggestions on how to structure and manage your provider compensation program during these turbulent times.

Houston Methodist – A Year Lookback and How We are Moving Forward

Provider groups across the country were forced to adjust quickly and proactively as a number of factors from the pandemic to CMS regulatory changes impacted groups. Hear how Houston Methodist was able to model the impact of the E&M coding changes combined with the Conversion Factor and wRVU weight changes to proactively adjust provider compensation during a challenging year, and what they plan to do regarding provider compensation going forward.

A comprehensive framework for assessing organizational performance will be shared that includes seven domains of high performance for medical groups. The quantitative and qualitative metrics that together make up overall performance and provide the ability to isolate gaps in performance will be shared. The presenters will discuss how the utilization of the standard assessment approach can be customized to fit unique marketplaces including the degree of shift from volume to
value.
