AMGA’s Rise to Immunize® Campaign Announces Extension and Expansion

Today, AMGA Foundation’s Rise to Immunize® (RIZE) campaign announced that the initiative, which previously ran through 2025, will be extended through 2027 to provide AMGA medical groups and health systems additional time to tackle immunization barriers and inequities. Further, RIZE is expanding to support AMGA members on three additional adult vaccines: respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), COVID-19, and hepatitis B.

National immunization initiative will continue through 2027 and add RSV, COVID-19, and hepatitis B vaccine measures

Alexandria, VA – Today, AMGA Foundation’s Rise to Immunize® (RIZE) campaign announced that the initiative, which previously ran through 2025, will be extended through 2027 to provide AMGA medical groups and health systems additional time to tackle immunization barriers and inequities, focus on the additional vaccines of their choosing, and hardwire improvements for sustainability. Further, RIZE is expanding to support AMGA members on three additional adult vaccines: respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), COVID-19, and hepatitis B. These adult vaccine measures will be added to the existing campaign measures—influenza, pneumococcal, Td/Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis), and zoster.

“We are thrilled to expand the campaign to include these critical additional adult vaccines,” said John Kennedy, MD, AMGA chief medical officer and AMGA Foundation president. “With the expansion and extension of RIZE, we are empowering high-performing groups across the country to achieve truly comprehensive and equitable adult immunization care.”

With an extended timeline and additional measures, RIZE now aims to empower AMGA members to document or administer 30 million vaccines by 2027 through comprehensive and equitable vaccine initiatives.

In the first two years of the award-winning initiative, participating medical groups and health systems administered or documented 11,938,960 adult vaccines. To date, 82 AMGA member organizations have joined RIZE—representing more than 50,000 full-time equivalent (FTE) physicians and spanning 29 states. To improve adult vaccination rates, participating AMGA members implement evidence-based care processes, or “campaign planks”; report quarterly immunization data; and use best-practice resources and tools identified and provided by the campaign.

RIZE is sponsored by: Pfizer, Inc. (Founding Sponsor), Sanofi (Executive Sponsor), Merck and Johnson & Johnson (Principal Sponsors), GSK (Achieving Sponsor), Dynavax (Contributing Sponsor), and CSL Seqirus (Supporting Sponsor). Campaign partners include: AMDA – The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, Gerontological Society of America, Hepatitis B Foundation, Immunize.org, National Adult and Influenza Immunization Summit, National Foundation for Infectious Diseases, National Minority Quality Forum, Unity Consortium, and Vaccinate Your Family.
