AMGA COVID-19 Pulse Survey Results
Survey: Status Updates
July 24, 2020
Thank you to the 81 participants in our ninth COVID-19 pulse survey, which revisited several questions from some of our previous pulse surveys. Our intent was to see what has changed and which challenges groups are still wrestling with.
As with previous surveys, responses have come from all over the country and are fairly evenly split between independent groups and health systems.
The telehealth responses align with the information included in two previous pulse surveys on this topic. Initially, groups described the significant amount of visit volume that transitioned to telehealth visits during the earliest phase of the COVID-19 crisis. Subsequent inquiries regarding telehealth projections saw the percent of telehealth visits come down. Groups reported anticipating approximately 25% of primary care visits and 10%-20% of specialty visits would remain as telehealth services. In the data collected in this survey, a significant majority report telehealth as 20% or less of visit volume.
