As COVID-19 spread across the country in 2020, medical groups faced public health-related restrictions that limited access to patients. Many of these groups pivoted to rapidly implement or increase telemedicine services in order to stay connected with and maintain health care options for their patients.
Telehealth Survey Results
With this recent shift toward electronic and telecommunications technologies and services to provide care and services from a distance, AMGA launched the 2021 Telehealth survey to gain insight into telehealth operating information and develop benchmarks for medical groups to understand telehealth utilization. Results focus on pertinent data for both independent practices and integrated health system organizations. The survey explores the following areas:
- Telehealth visit mix and adoption
- Service offerings and demographics
- Staffing and scheduling
- Technology utilization and integration
The AMGA 2021 Telehealth Survey includes responses from 56 medical groups from across the country, representing a wide range of group sizes and organization types. The group data submitted represents more than 38,900 provider FTEs.
