kick-off presentation will frame the meeting
with a discussion of the
future of high-performing care organizations,
alternate routes to
becoming an ACO, the evolution of value-based
care in your region, and
strategies for maintaining quality care in a
time of looming Medicare
cuts and other financial
challenges.
Upon completion of this
activity, participants should be able to
discuss various ACO models in
the commercial sector and other models of
value-based care, and
delineate financial strategies to combat
dwindling reimbursement.

This session will
feature the presentation of the 2011 Acclaim
Award, AMGA's most
prestigious quality award, presented annually
by the American Medical
Group Foundation, honoring physician-directed
organizations that bring
the American healthcare system closer to a
delivery model in which
patients experience care that is safer, more
reliable, more responsive,
more integrated, and more readily available.
The recipient will then
explore their winning initiative and the
elements that made it
successful.
Upon completion of this
activity, participants should
be able to describe a system-wide quality
improvement initiative that
uses the IOM aims as guidance.
