AMGA Honors Pfizer for Role in Immunization of Nearly 6 Million American Adults

Alexandria, VA – At its 2019 Annual Conference, AMGA named Pfizer, Inc., the recipient of its 2019 Distinguished Corporate Partner Award. Pfizer was selected for its support of AMGA’s educational initiatives, including AMGA Foundation’s Adult Immunization Best Practices Learning Collaborative, where more than 5 million vaccines were administered or documented between 2017 and 2018, and nearly 6 million since 2015.

“With Pfizer’s support, our members have improved the health of millions through the administration of critical pneumococcal and influenza vaccines,” said Jerry Penso, M.D., M.B.A., AMGA's president and chief executive officer. “Their support enables us to expand our programs to assist more members and their patients. We thank Pfizer for their ongoing support and look forward to their continued partnership with us.”

Each year, AMGA presents its Distinguished Corporate Partner Award to an industry partner that supports the team model of healthcare delivery and develops programs and services to help medical groups and health systems deliver high-quality, low-cost care. Pfizer is a member of AMGA’s Chairman’s Circle, the highest classification of Corporate Partnership, reserved for industry partners most involved in AMGA’s programs and activities.
