Survey
To measure your providers’ satisfaction with their work lives, the
survey focuses on 12 key dimensions, listed below. The 60 core items of
the survey that measure these 12 dimensions ask your providers to rate
their satisfaction on five-point Likert scales. The survey takes 15
minutes to complete. Providers are guaranteed confidentiality, thereby
ensuring that they can freely express themselves.
Leadership and Communication
- Quality of physician leadership in your group
- Physician involvement in management and governance of your group
- Communications with physician leaders
- Explanation of management decisions
- The morale in your group
- The influence you have on your group's policies and procedures
- Your group's response to your concerns and requests
- How well your group is facing the economic and strategic challenges confronting physicians in this country

Quality of Care
- Quality of care you are able to provide
- Your ability to obtain specialty referrals whenever you feel they are necessary
- Your ability to prescribe the medications you want
- Your ability to obtain tests or procedures for patients whenever you feel they are necessary
- Your ability to refer patients to high quality specialist
Time Spent Working
- Time you have available for your family and personal life
- Degree of control you have over your schedule
- Amount of time you spend working
- Amount of time you spend with each patient
- The volume of my patient load or panel is reasonable
Patient Interaction
- Your relationships with patients
- Your patients' expectations/demands
- Your patients' adherence/compliance with instructions
- Continuity of patient care you are able to provide
Administrators
- Administrators emphasize productivity to the detriment of quality care

Preauthorization Process
- Time it takes to complete pre-authorization requests

- Appropriateness of pre-authorization decisions
The survey also collects data regarding a variety of practice
characteristics (e.g., use of email in communicating with patients) and
provider demographics (e.g., age, gender).
