Employee Satisfaction and Engagement Benchmarking Program

AMGA’s Employee Satisfaction and Engagement Benchmarking Program provides a tool that medical groups may use in measuring and benchmarking the job attitudes of accountants, information technology professionals, receptionists, medical assistants, and other non-provider employees. Based upon a survey designed by AMGA staff and input provided by an advisory committee comprised of medical group representatives from across the country, the bulk of the Employee Satisfaction and Engagement Survey includes questions focused on 10 dimensions. These dimensions include employee engagement, growth opportunities, health benefits, leaves, pay, personal relationships, physician interactions, rewarding work, supervision, and workload.

Participating in the survey gives you a thorough insight into how your employees feel regarding their jobs, supervisors, and compensation. Additionally, your group will come away understanding just how engaged your employees are―how committed and motivated they are when it comes to the mission and success of your organization. Moreover, the survey will enable you to see how your group’s employees stack up against other medical groups across the country. This will allow you to put your group’s results into context so that you will be better equipped to prioritize and address the areas needing improvement.

A major advantage of AMGA’s Employee Satisfaction and Engagement Survey is that it is a purely web-based instrument. The web survey provides an easy- to-use, highly navigable, secure environment for employees to provide confidential reports of their job attitudes.

Note that due to their different needs and responsibilities, physicians should participate in AMGA’s Provider Satisfaction Benchmarking Program. While other non-physician providers of care such as Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants may participate in the Employee Satisfaction and Engagement Survey (at the discretion of their medical groups), AMGA urges such providers to instead participate in the Provider Satisfaction Survey.
