How It Works
The survey methodology is rigorous
enough to provide statistically valid data but flexible enough to
accommodate your office needs.
- Surveys are administered over a
minimum, three-week period to a random selection of each
provider’s patients.
- Patients are given the survey
after the office visit and asked to complete the survey onsite
and return it to a confidential drop box before leaving the
office. (If patients do not check out after seeing the provider,
check with AMGA about alternate distribution methods.)
- Survey data is then forwarded to
AMGA to be included in the benchmark database.
- AMGA sends you a comprehensive
report with overall clinic, specialty, site, and individual
provider level analysis within five to six weeks.
How to
Get Started
The entire process typically takes
three months from start to finish: one month for set-up, one month
to survey, and one month for AMGA to prepare the report. The
standard process is as follows:
- AMGA will send you a survey
administration protocol that outlines the survey process,
resources required, how to randomly select patients, and other
important tips for a smooth survey process.
- Your group sends AMGA a list of
providers and an electronic copy of your logo.
- AMGA will prepare a survey
template for each provider. Allow two weeks for
processing.
- Your group will pilot the survey
in one department to work out any problems with the survey
administration process.
- Your medical group can then roll
out the survey to the entire clinic or survey department by
department (depending on what works better for your medical
group).
- The survey is administered over a
three-week period to obtain a minimum of thirty surveys per
provider. We encourage you to collect more than thirty when
possible.
- Completed surveys are forwarded to
AMGA to be scanned into the database.
Staff
Requirements
The program is designed to be
smoothly incorporated into your practice schedule without adding
additional staff. You will need to designate someone to oversee the
program and be the primary contact with AMGA. Depending on the size
of your group, you also may have to designate site coordinators to
manage the survey distribution in their office setting.
Receptionists administer the survey to patients as they check out.

participation, contact Mark Miller at (703) 838-0033, ext. 363.
