On behalf of the American Medical Group Association, the leading association representing the interests of large medical groups nationwide, I invite you to participate in AMGA’s 22nd Annual Medical Group Compensation and Financial Survey.

This nationally recognized survey is divided into two parts. The compensation survey focuses on the individual compensation and productivity of experienced physicians, starting salaries of new residents as well as experienced new hires and non-physician administrative salaries. The survey results will assist you in evaluating the competitiveness of compensation levels for your group’s physicians and key administrative staff and provide you with invaluable insight into the relationship between physician compensation and productivity. It will also compare your group with various national averages. All survey results are segmented by medical specialty or administrative position, as appropriate, and provide you with specific breakdowns by size of group, geographic region, and group type.

The financial operations survey provides benchmark data on support staff salaries and benefits, staffing profiles, and other key management costs. The data is presented on a per physician basis as well as on a per square footage basis. The summary information pages include financial profiles based on varied managed care revenue percentages and are further broken down by group type, geographic region, and group size. This survey also presents detailed financial profiles by specialty on a per physician and per square footage basis as well as a staffing profile by specialty.

In addition, you will find a section with information targeted specifically for Academic/Faculty Practice groups.

To ensure complete confidentiality of the data, AMGA has retained the independent national accounting and consulting firm of RSM McGladrey, Inc. to conduct this comprehensive project. RSM McGladrey has considerable expertise in the area of medical group physician compensation and has conducted numerous related surveys. RSM McGladrey will maintain a confidential file for each group’s response. No organization, other than RSM McGladrey, will have access to your individual response.
