
Position: Director of Research Institute
MultiCare Health System (MHS) in Tacoma, Washington is seeking a Director for the MultiCare Health System Research Institute.
This new, centralized MHS Research Institute will focus on applied clinical research building upon the established MHS Research Department research that is already underway while also securing funding for additional studies, including health services and epidemiology. You will enjoy getting in on the ground level and have an entrepreneurial spirit that will allow the MHS Research Institute to thrive under your direction. Knowledgeable in organizing an operation to support research and all the elements that includes, especially the multi-disciplinary nature of such a venture, you will use your passion for research and experience in all aspects of clinical research to elevate the focus of research both within the organization and through outside affiliations.
The successful candidate will be a proficient consensus builder who comes to us with physician training (MD/DO) and five years experience as a principle investigator. Currently holding a senior role within an accomplished research environment, you will have a proven track record of successful government grant writing and acceptance.
The Director will be involved in all aspects of the Institute's activities, including study design, grant writing, mentoring and recruitment; however, the position does not require a clinical practice outside of your research activities. You will have a full complement of research staff, access to 94 sites of patient care, ranging from primary care and specialty practices to community, children's and tertiary care hospitals, and EPIC electronic medical records to easily access patient information across sites. With 100+ studies in progress and more slated to begin, you'll have an exceptional base from which to grow!
