CLINICAL DECISION SUPPORT SPECIALIST
In this key role, you will provide senior management with a wide range of complex analytical work, including clinical decision support, as well as workflow and resource productivity using available technology and data to optimize financial, clinical and operational results. You'll also serve as system administrator for various clinical and operational information systems. As such, you will be expected to analyze user system and application needs, determine and evaluate alternatives for meeting those needs, and lead the implementation, maintenance support and upgrade of clinical and operational information systems. Additionally, you'll consult with department managers, healthcare professionals and senior level management, determine their information needs and provide data analysis and utilization while assuring data quality and integrity.
We require a Bachelor's degree, 5 years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience, knowledge of various clinical and operational systems such as CERNER, Lawson, RES-Q and Morrisey and experience conducting operational audits/analysis and related projects for the purpose of improving productivity, administrative control, decision making and cost and/or quality of service. Qualifications require an ability to apply knowledge and expertise of current processes to redesign, verify, test and document new systems; define, analyze and document new work processes that improve outcomes and increase performance; and accurately document complex and variable processes and data management structures. Further, the ability to understand and communicate information about complex systems and processes to individuals with varying levels of IT knowledge and expertise, develop and present training sessions and prepare reports/recommendations for management based on complex analysis of clinical, cost and patient data is necessary, as are good problem solving, computer, management and personnel skills. Additionally, a strong IT knowledge base is preferred including network operations, databases, software applications/interfaces, computer operations, production control, quality assurance and systems management. Experience in healthcare and the ability to lead large scale complex projects is also preferred.
