Position: Vice President, Operations

Spectrum Health Medical Group in Grand Rapids, Michigan has exclusively engaged Cejka Executive Search to assist in the recruitment of its Vice President, Operations.
Spectrum Health Medical Group (SHMG), formed in late 2008, is a rapidly growing multispecialty group practice and part of Spectrum Health, an integrated system covering 13 counties in western Michigan. It is comprised of a multispecialty adult practice, as well as, a recently integrated 'group-within-a-group' - 80 pediatric specialists from the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.
This new leadership role will be responsible for providing operational leadership and direction for the clinical practices of the Department of Pediatrics within Spectrum Health Medical Group. The Vice President, Operations will work in partnership with physician leadership, medical staff and outpatient staff to implement a culture of continuous process improvement and assure that a high quality of service is provided to patients and physicians.
Successful candidates for this position will have proven experience in leading operational efficiencies in multispecialty physician group practices; preferably in a pediatric environment. S/he will possess the ability to work within a highly matrixed, integrated delivery system, collaborating with the Helen DeVos Children's hospital administration and other leadership within the medical group. Candidates with a post-graduate business or healthcare degree are highly desired, but not required. Ideal candidates will have at least eight years of progressive healthcare leadership experience in medium to large multispecialty physician group practice environment and at least five years experience in a management role. Successful clinic operations experience in a pediatric practice will be highly valued.
Grand Rapids, Michigan is the second largest city in the state located just 35 minutes from the shores of Lake Michigan. Just two hours from Chicago, the metropolitan area population is 750,000 with a 3 million population referral base. Grand Rapids boasts top-rated public and private schools and seven colleges. The downtown area is vibrant and growing with multiple cultural, professional sporting events, concerts, river activities, parks and excellent restaurants. This is a family-friendly city not too small not too large.
