AMGA presents this award annually to member groups’ physician-administrator leadership teams for exceptional leadership; innovation and vision; contributions to the advancement of quality; effective healthcare delivery practices and structure; and outstanding contributions to the local public community in which the medical group is located.

Each year AMGA issues a call for applications for the Medical Group Preeminence Award which is presented at the AMGA Annual Conference. This award is presented to a leadership team which is able to substantially demonstrate all of the following:

• Vision and Innovation
• Advancements in Health Care Design and Delivery
• Improvements in Quality of Care, Effectiveness and Efficiency
• Contributions to the Community in which the Medical Group Is Located
